Tropicsurf and C4 are offering surfers of all abilities the unique opportunity to experience a Waterman Week with Brian Keaulana in the Maldives aboard the luxury surfing vessel, Tropic Breeze, from June 24 2008.
The Waterman Week will take place aboard the brand new, 113-foot Tropic Breeze, a boat designed specifically for surfing. Surfers will be trained in pursuits such as stand up paddle surfing, free diving, body surfing, hydro foiling, jet ski rescue, underwater self defence and tow-surfing.
Daily breath improvement sessions will teach surfers how to relax underwater, both physically and mentally, and Keaulana’s principles of risk management will be an important focus. Brian Keaulana is a legendary Hawaiian waterman who will be onboard to share his wealth of knowledge and experience. He was once described by surf journalist Dave Parmenter as ”without a doubt the greatest all-around waterman alive”.

On the 1st of Rabee-ul Awwal, the third month in the Islamic calendar, the Maldives' National Day commemorates Muhammed Thakurufaanu's victory over the occupying Portuguese forces in 1573. Parades are held in the streets of Male and other islands every year to mark the occasion.
After the Portuguese invaded and killed the reigning Sultan in 1558, the Maldives was under colonial rule. In 1573, Muhammad Thakurufaanu liberated the country. Parades are held in the streets of Male and other islands every year to mark the occasion.
