Cinnamon Island Alidhoo is planning to carry out Coastal protection work in order to limit the sea erosion and create a larger beach area for guest use. Furthermore, we believe the proposed project will create a shallow lagoon for guests to swim and snorkel.

Kindly note that the proposed work will be carried out from 15th May till 15th Aug 2008.

This includes building of wave breakers using concrete boulders. A team comprising of 06 workers will be involved in the project and they will be using an excavator and lifting equipment in order to place the concrete boulders.

Ark Royal

Ark Royal

Scheduled for operation in mid-August 2008, the Ark Royal gives new meaning to the words indulgence and luxury.

Ark Royal is a 115-feet luxury cruiser traversing the crystalline waters of the Maldives. The cruiser accommodates 8 Deluxe Cabins, and 1 Suite. The living quarters are complemented by a restaurant able to offer you indoor dining, a fully-stocked drinks bar, a tastefully-decorated lounge, and an extensive library, including video and music collections, should you wish to recline and lose yourself in a book or more.

All living quarters are equipped with the latest technologies offering you the amenities of a TV, DVD and CD player, a private bar, an electronic safe and telephones. Remain in touch with the rest of the world with our on-board Wi-Fi system.
The spacious sundeck is perfect for watching the sun go down, with drink in hand, thanks to the outdoor bar service. When the sun does go down, and the stars come out, what better than to gaze upon their beauty with our telescope on deck. Don’t forget, however, to engage our on-board Steam Bath and masseuse, for some relaxing therapy from time to time.

CONTEST DEADLINE EXTENDED: The deadline for entering the 52 Weekends readers competition has been extended to May 20

Maldives

Maldives

You could win round-trip airfare and four nights in the Maldives, courtesy of Egypt Today, Qatar Airways and Conrad Maldives Rangali Island.

This archipelago nation in the Indian Ocean is the height of paradise, surrounded by 26 coral atolls that form tranquil lagoons with fantastic diving, snorkeling and windsurfing. You can even explore the water world by submarine, or you could just stay on the beach all day, enjoy seafood fresh out of the water and pretend you’re Robinson Crusoe. Even the urban side is relaxed: the island capital of Malé has tree-lined streets and local bazaars, plus historic and modern mosques dotting the skyline.

The winner will fly Qatar Airways to the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island, set on two private islands with idyllic white-sand beach and unspoiled reef. When you’re done sunning yourself, dress for dinner at the very exclusive, all-glass undersea restaurant — the first of its kind in the world.
